Iraqi special operations troops are holding their positions in the suburbs of the Islamic State-held city of Mosul, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
On Tuesday, the counterterror force breached Mosul's eastern suburbs and establishing a toehold in the Jdeidet al-Mufti neighborhood.
The force commander said troops captured the local state television station, reported Reuters.
As of Wednesday, the special ops force had halted the advance. Poor weather has reportedly reduced...
