Egyptian security personnel say police have killed 10 militants in a three-hour shootout in Cairo, reports Ahram Online (Egypt).
Police raided two apartments in the capital's central Agouza district on Sunday after receiving a tip that Sinai-based militants were in hideouts there, said the Interior Ministry.
Police said the militants -- reportedly from Hasm, a breakaway faction of the Muslim Brotherhood -- were planning attacks in central Egypt.
