In a major crackdown on organized crime, Italian police arrested at least 320 people on Tuesday in multiple raids against the Calabrian mafia, Reuters reports.
The arrests followed an extensive investigation, including wiretaps, against the 'Ndrangheta organization, said officials.
The group, which originated in the southern region of Calabria, is considered by some to be more powerful than the Cosa Nostra, its Sicilian counterpart.
