Police deployed outside mosques and a university in the Algerian capital of Algiers on Friday after more rioting took place overnight, following days of protests over rising prices and unemployment, reported Radio Netherlands.
Rioting has also been reported in the cities of Constantine, Oran and Bejaia, noted the BBC.
Youths have ransacked shops, lit tires on fire and thrown stones at police, said security officials.
