Somali police and military personnel have been involved in deadly fighting in Mogadishu.
At least 16 people were killed on Monday, reported the Canadian Press.
Fighting broke out after police killed a soldier in civilian clothes after finding a pistol on him and suspecting that he was an Islamist insurgent, said police.
The soldier's colleagues then reportedly arrived and began attacking the police.
At least 30 others were said to have been wounded in the incident.
