A suicide car bomber detonated his explosives at a police checkpoint in the Russian republic of Dagestan on Thursday, killing three people and injuring 17 others, reports Reuters.
The bomber blew himself up after police stopped his car in Lenin-Aul village, about 60 miles north of Makhachkala, the republic's capital, said security officials.
Several of the victims were reportedly police officers.
