Police in Senegal have detained 900 people over several days as part of a security operation after recent Islamist attacks in Burkina Faso and Mali, reports the BBC.
The detentions took place over the weekend, said police on Tuesday.
Those arrests were not terror-related, but were part of a general vigilance campaign, said a security source cited by Reuters.
Their charges ranged from possessing drugs to having incorrect documents for vehicles, said authorities.
