Plans Set For 2nd UAV Squadron At Porbandar

The Indian navy expects to activate its second unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) squadron at Porbandar in Gujarat later this month, reports the Press Trust of India.

The new squadron will include the Israeli-built Searcher and Heron UAVs, which will enhance surveillance capabilities off the coast of Gujarat, according to navy officials.

The navy commissioned its first UAV squadron in 2006.
