Plans Call For New Defense Headquarters To Open By 2014

The defense minister has unveiled detailed plans for a new French defense headquarters, Defense News reports.

What some are calling the "French Pentagon" is expected to house 9,300 command and civilian staff at Balard in east Paris, said Gerard Longuet.

The building will cost 3.5 billion euros ($5.1 billion) and be completed by 2014, he said last week.
