The Iranian navy has announced plans to build 10 more warships, reports RIA Novosti.
These vessels will include a Mowj-1 class destroyer, launched in 2010, and Velayat, a Mowj-2 class destroyer expected to be complete by the end of this year, said Rear Adm. Abbas Zamini, deputy chief of the navy.
Additional Mowj-class destroyers and Sina-class guided missile frigates will also be built, Zamini said.
The ships will help guard against pirates, said state news agency IRNA. ...
