The Turkish military says its warplanes have struck multiple Kurdish rebel bases in northern Iraq, reports RTT News.
The airstrikes were retaliation for the deaths of eight soldiers in fighting with Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, said military officials on Wednesday.
Major fighting took place in Yuksekova after a rebel raid.
