Somali pirates have threatened to execute the crew of a Chinese bulk carrier if any rescue attempt are made, Bloomberg News reports.
The De Xin Hai and its 25-member crew were hijacked Monday in the Indian Ocean, north of the Seychelles and east of the Somali coast, maritime officials said.
Chinese naval officials previously said plans were being made for a rescue mission.
