Pirates Hijack Bangladeshi Vessel Off Indian Coast

Suspected pirates have seized a Bangladesh-flagged cargo ship off the south coast of India, reports RTT News.

The MV Jahan Moni reportedly came under attack as it was approaching the Lakshadweep Islands, about 190 miles (300 km) from the Indian coast, according to the ship's owners.

The merchant vessel, with a crew of 25 Bangladeshis, was sailing from Singapore to Europe via the Suez Canal, when it was hijacked.
