Pirates Held On U.S. Warship Sent Home After 6 Weeks

The U.S. Navy on Friday released 10 Somali pirates captured in April since no country could be found to prosecute them, the Washington Post reports.

The pirates were taken into custody by the USS McFaul on April 5 after they hijacked an Indian cargo ship and took nine crew members hostage in the Arabian Sea, Navy officials said.

The detainees were removed from the destroyer on Friday and sent back to Somalia, said the officials.
