A South African ship played a key role in an international operation that resulted in the capture a dozen suspected Somali pirates off the coast of Tanzania, reports SouthAfrica.info.
A replenishment vessel, the Drakensberg spotted a pirate mother ship last week while patrolling the Mozambican Channel, said military officials.
The vessel was identified as the Sri Lankan fishing vessel Nimesha Duwak, which was captured by pirates last November, said officials.
