The Indian navy captured 23 Somali and Yemeni pirates in the Gulf of Aden on Saturday, reports the Yemen Times.
Indian special operations forces boarded the MV Gibe after receiving a distress call from another nearby merchant vessel which reported being fired upon, said an Indian navy spokesman.
According to the navy, 12 Somalis and 11 Yemenis surrendered and they and their weapons have been handed over to the relevant authorities.
