Pilot Ejects Safely Before Hornet Crashes

A Canadian CF-18 Hornet fighter crashed late on Wednesday night near Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake in northern Alberta, reports the Postmedia News.
The pilot ejected safely just before impact, said a military spokesman.
The aircraft was approaching the base and was about 8 miles (13 km) away when it went down, he said.
The cause of the crash is not yet known, but an investigation has been launched.
