Persian Gulf Radar To Be Replaced, Missile Production Begins

Iranian officials say Tehran is developing a system of domestic radars to replace aging Russian-made systems currently deployed in the Persian Gulf, Press TV (Iran) reports.

The radars will also provide meteorological data for weather forecasting and analysis, said Vice President for Science and Technology Nasrin Soltankhah.

The new radar systems will be deployed on Iranian ships and vessels in the gulf, she said.
