A key Nigerian lawmaker has called for the federal government to permanently base troops in the conflict-ridden Jos North region, reports the Vanguard (Lagos).
Sumaila Muhammed, a member of the House of Representatives from the Jos North region, said a permanent military presence is needed to prevent ethnic violence.
Muhammad blamed the recent election-related violence on the Plateau State government.
