Pentagon Test-Fires Ground-Launched Cruise Missile

The U.S. has test-launched a ground-based cruise missile less than a month after withdrawing from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty with Russia, reports the Defense Dept. 

On Sunday, the military launched the missile from a ground launcher at a site in San Nicolas Island, Calif., according to a Pentagon release.

The missile flew more than 310 miles (500 km) and hit its target accurately, said the department.
