The U.S. Defense Dept. has been considering military sites as possible installations for those detainees now held at the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, reports the Voice of America News.
Military personnel began surveying a facility in Leavenworth, Kan., on Thursday. A second site in Charleston, S.C., will be surveyed starting next week, said a defense spokesman.
Such a facility will have to hold about 50 prisoners, said one official. There are currently 116 prisoners...
