The Pentagon has submitted a $50 million funding transfer request to Congress to support the development of a prototype mobile hypersonic weapon launcher, reports Defense News.
On June 25, the Defense Dept. submitted an omnibus reprogramming request to lawmakers. Congressional defense committees must approve any spending changes.
The additional $50 million would be used to develop a transporter-erector-launcher (TEL) capable of accommodating two hypersonic missiles.
