Defense officials have acknowledged that the U.S. military has sent some personnel into Libya to develop potential partners for what could be an expanded campaign against the Islamic State terrorist group, reports the Voice of America News.
"There have been some U.S. forces in Libya trying to establish contact with forces on the ground," a Pentagon spokesman told reporters on Wednesday.
