Pentagon Discloses Nuclear Stockpile: 5,113 Warheads

The Dept. of Defense says the U.S. has 5,113 active and inactive nuclear warheads in its inventory, a total that was once a closely guarded secret, CNN reports.

The Pentagon released the exact figures on stockpile as an international conference opened at the United Nations seeking a renewal of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
