Pentagon Decides On More Naval Patrols In Disputed S. China Sea

The U.S. Pacific Command has developed a plan for more regular naval patrols in the South China Sea, reports the Hill (Washington, D.C.), citing a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The Pentagon has set a schedule for freedom of navigation operations (FONOPS) to challenge Chinese maritime claims in the region, reported the Journal on Sept. 1.

PACOM expects to conduct two or three such missions over the next few months.
