Pentagon Awards $2.2 Billion Contract For F-35 Engines

The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, East Hartford, Conn., a contract modification for F-35 engines, reports the Dept. of Defense. The $2.2 billion modification covers 112 F-135-PW-100 engines for the Air Force; 25 F-135-PW-100 engines for the Navy; and 46 F-135-PW-600 engines for the Marine Corps. The modification also definitized a contract for long lead components for 129 F135-PW-100 and 19 F135-PW-600 engines for unspecified non-U.S....
