Peacekeeping Decision In Limbo; Delay Seems To Be Linked To Uncertainty Of U.S. Direction

The Canadian government has postponed making a decision about a peacekeeping mission, apparently to better gauge the priorities of the new Trump administration in the U.S., reports CBC News.

Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan and former Foreign Affairs Minister Stephane Dion last year announced that Ottawa would send 600 troops and 150 police officers to various international missions.

The goal was to define where and what kind of missions before the end of 2016.
