Peacekeepers Work On Mine Awareness, Policing Before Heading To Darfur

British troops from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment are in the midst of a training course for Gambian soldiers and police ahead of a deployment for the West African personnel to the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID) in Sudan, reports the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
The three-week course covers physical training; mine awareness, mine clearance and search techniques; and community policing, according to the MoD.
About 150 Gambian troops are being trained in peace support...
