Peace Assembly Marred By Nearby Taliban Attacks

As Afghan President Hamid Karzai opened an assembly for peace on Wednesday in Kabul, Taliban suicide bombs exploded in the vicinity and rockets landed nearby, the New York Times reports.
At least three suicide bombers were involved in attacks on the Takya Khana mosque in Kabul. Two rockets also exploded near the site of the jirga, said officials.
