A hijack attempt on an Istanbul-bound Turkish passenger jet has been thwarted, RTT News reports.
The incident took place Wednesday on Flight TK1754 from Oslo to Istanbul with 59 passengers on board.
The would-be hijacker, claiming to have a bomb, tried to forcibly enter the cockpit and demanded the aircraft return to Oslo, security officials said. He was then overpowered by two passengers, according to the Anatolia news agency.
