Pashinyan Fires Military Chief After Calls For Resignation

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has dismissed the head of the Armenian armed forces after he and dozens of high-ranking officers signed a statement demanding his resignation, reports the Tass news agency (Moscow).

On Thursday, Col. Gen. Onik Gasparyan and 40 high-ranking officers demanded the resignation of Pashinyan and his government, saying they were "incapable of making adequate decisions in a crisis situation."

The military statement ruled out the use of force.
