The Latvian Parliament has confirmed the government's nominee for defense minister, reports LSM, Latvia's public broadcaster.
Raimonds Bergmanis succeeds Raimonds Vejonis, who was recently elected president.
Bergmanis, a former weightlifter and television presenter, is a member of Parliament, but has been criticized for his lack political experience.
