France and the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union, are pushing to strengthen measures to combat terrorism and tighten border controls and arms regulations, reports the E.U. Observer.
Authorities in Paris want to beef up existing regulations and the rapid adoption of plans already in the works. An extraordinary meeting of E.U. interior ministers was scheduled for Friday in Brussels.
