A Chinese-owned, Panamanian-flagged ship was captured by pirates on Saturday about 750 miles (1,200 km) east of Salalah, Oman, reports the European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR).
The MV Yuan Xiang reportedly had 29 Chinese crewmembers onboard. The ship's owners were reportedly informed that the vessel was being taken to Somalia, reported Reuters.
