Order Placed For Long-Range, Infrared Binoculars

French defense company Sagem has won a contract to provide long-range binoculars to the French armed forces, Defense News reports.
The deal covers 1,175 new-generation JIM LR 2 long-range infrared binoculars, said company officials. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The award, made following an international competition, is the first win for Sagem's LR 2 model, officials said.
France has made plans to equip all its services with new-generation infrared binoculars.
