Order Placed For 393 More M-ATVs

The U.S. Army has awarded the Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Corp. a contract for more armored vehicles, reports the Dept. of Defense.

The $408 million contract covers 923 Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected All-Terrain Vehicles (M-ATVs), including basic issue items.

Work is scheduled to be completed in May 2012.

The military has now ordered more than 5,200 of the vehicles from Oshkosh.
