Oil Minister Defects From Qaddafi

Libya's oil minister has defected from Muammar Qaddafi's regime, Agence France-Presse reports.
Shukri Ghanem announced in Rome on Wednesday that he had left Libya to "fight for a democratic state."
He told the Wall Street Journal he was uncertain whether he would join the rebellion, also saying the "continuous killing there was unreasonable to bear." Other accounts said he was now supporting the rebellion.
