The U.S. Navy has created a new officer designator and aligned four others as part of its Information Dominance Corps, reports the Navy Times.
The new cyberwarfare engineer designator (1840) is intended to meet the demand for officers with specific computer network operations knowledge, skills and abilities.
Five officers are to be recruited into the position in fiscal 2010 to work with Fleet Cyber Command to enhance the Navy's cyber capabilities.
