The Russian navy said one of its officers was killed in a fire on a Baltic Fleet frigate, RIA Novosti reports.
The Neukrotimy (Indomitable) caught fire early Monday while anchored at the Baltic's Fleet's main naval base of Baltiisk, said a naval spokesman.
"The body of an officer was discovered during a thorough search of the ship, he said.
The frigate was due to be taken out of service and no weapons were on board at the time of the fire, said the spokesman.
