Nuclear Bombers Become Part Of New Global Strike Command

Three U.S. Air Force nuclear-capable bomber wings formally transferred on Monday from Air Combat Command to the new Global Strike Command, the Air Force Times reports.

The bomber wings involved are the 5th at Minot Air Force Base, N.D.; the 2nd at Barksdale Air Force Base, La.; and the 509th at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. Barksdale is also the Global Strike headquarters.
