The Philippine government and representatives of Maoist rebels have restarted formal peace talks in Norway, reports the Philippine Star.
Talks with the New People's Army (NPA), the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), were scrapped in February. Both sides ended their own unilateral cease-fires earlier this year, with the army accusing the communists of attacking soldiers.
Negotiations resumed on Sunday in Oslo on a bilateral cease-fire.
