The Philippine government has halted its unofficial peace talks with Maoist rebels after a series of attacks, say officials, as reported by Al Jazeera (Qatar).
Back-channel talks with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) were scheduled this coming weekend in the Netherlands. Three soldiers were killed and six wounded in attacks this week claimed by the New People's Army (NPA), the armed wing of the CPP.
