USA—Northrop Grumman Long-Range Radar Receives Government Designation

The U.S. government has given Northrop Grumman’s new long-range radar an official designation, reports the defense firm.
The AN/TPY-5(V)1, the company’s offering for the Air Force’s Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR) program that was won by Lockheed Martin, is an S-band system featuring enhanced surveillance, advanced electronic protection and a high degree of mobility, said Northrop Grumman officials.
