On June 1, 2026, Northrop Grumman announced that it is partnering with Apex to support the development of space-based interceptor systems for the U.S. Space Force. Following successful ground testing, the company plans to provide an on-orbit demonstration capability by 2027 and continue supporting the deployment of operational systems later in the decade.
The interceptor system is designed to detect and neutralize missile threats from space. The project also incorporates modern artificial intelligence and advanced production capabilities to improve performance and speed development.
