Sudanese warplanes have struck a major town in South Sudan, reports Agence France-Presse.
On Thursday, five bombs were dropped on Bentiu, the capital of Unity state, said South Sudan's deputy information minister.
The city is about 60 km (37.3 mi) from the border.
The aircraft were apparently targeting a bridge on a road leading north toward the frontline, said the minister.
This was the third straight day of violence in the border region.
