The European Union has decided to allow non-members, including the U.K. and U.S., to take part in future joint defense projects, reports Reuters.
Non-member states will be allowed to participate in such programs on a case-by-case basis, provided they bring significant expertise to the project, said three E.U. diplomats.
The move breaks an impasse regarding the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) framework that dates to June 2018.
