President Obama met with congressional leaders on Tuesday to discuss Afghan strategy, the New York Times reports.
Obama told the Democratic and Republican leaders that he would not significantly reduce the level of combat troops in Afghanistan, although he is still undecided about the troop buildup proposed by the commanding general in Kabul.
Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal has recommended another 40,000 combat troops be deployed.
