The South Korean military has apologized for an incident on Friday in which two marines fired at a civilian airliner, reports Australia's Herald Sun.
The marines, based near a disputed sea border with the North, mistook the aircraft for a North Korean warplane, reported Sky News (U.K.).
The marines on Gyodong island fired 99 rounds, including tracers, at an Asiana Airlines flight from China, said the military.
