The European Union has decided to retain its arms embargo on China, reports the E.U. Observer.
"There remains a broad consensus within the E.U. that the time is not right to lift the arms embargo. We need to see clear progress on the issues that necessitated the embargo in the first place, namely on civil liberties and political rights," said an unnamed British diplomat.
The U.S. has maintained that dropping the embargo would have a negative effect on defense cooperation. ...
