The U.S. and Afghan governments are said to be close to reaching an agreement on how to conduct night raids in Afghanistan, Reuters reports.
The proposed deal would give the Afghan authorities oversight of the raids, which are unpopular in Afghanistan, while allowing U.S. forces to have a hand in guiding them, officials from both countries said Tuesday, noted the New York Times.
